She's had her first rice and beans and she's officially ready for our trip to Mexico next month!
(and yes, she is eating straight off the dirty restaurant tablecloth, but when you are desperate you will do things that you usually judge other people for :)
You might also be asking why I would put some boring old pictures of Sonja eating rice and beans. Well, it also marks the occasion of her eating something that can be ordered easily at a restaurant and a first step towards having to carry less stuff with us, like her special food. Pretty soon we will be entering the can't-cut-it-into-smaller-pieces-fast-enough-for-her phase, in which Cam and I will lose weight because we never have time to eat our own food.
And while I'm at it, I should also say that she is 7 months old as of 4 days ago. Crazy. She is laughing like crazy these days, loves imitating her sister (especially screaming which you would think is annoying but it is so cute how into it she gets!), jumping on the bed with Gwen, going down the slide at the park (with help of course) and she just loves to be on the move. When you are holding her, she is constantly kicking and flapping her arms. Someone at church told my Dad that she reminds them of one of those dolls where you pull the string and their arms and legs flap. Totally fitting. I am curious to see if she will always be really active as she grows up and how it will compare to Gwen because Gwen was definitely not this busy. We might be in for a lot of chasing and running with this one! Also, she is getting much better at sleeping. No more 30 minute naps for this girl! Its really nice. She still wakes up a lot at 4:00 in the morning but about 3 days out of 4, she just cries a little and goes back to sleep.
Okay, I'm done.

Oh the things we end up letting them do. I remember having a long layover at an airport right after Owen learned to crawl and I couldn't believe I was letting him crawl on the airport floor. But he had to move! And she had to eat!
Yea for rice and beans! Yes, she is definitely now officially ready for Mexico... :) And get a load of those big, beautiful eyes! I can't wait to see you guys in just a few short weeks - we'll meet up at the airport in Houston - love that we're on the same flight to Cabo!
