Caterpillars and Memorial Day

Gwen got a butterfly garden for her birthday (thanks Uncle Scott and Aunt Greta!) where you send for caterpillars and then they turn into butterflies...here's Gwen with her box of caterpillars when we got it in the mail. I think she's excited.

Taken by Gwen

Cam went fishing in Wisconsin for Memorial Day weekend and since we have just one car, I decided to head to my parent's house on Saturday so I could get to church and then we went to my Grandpa's in Rockford on Sunday. It was a fun weekend and it was nice to have a little "vacation" away from home and to-do-lists.

Gwen loves sitting with Sonja like this and it has become very helpful when I need to get something done and I don't have somewhere to put her!

At the Memorial Day parade. Check out Sonja in the background, she didn't stay in there the whole time :) Both of the girls LOVED watching the parade. Sonja would go crazy flapping and kicking when the marching bands would walk by. Gwen just watched everything amazed and told me that she really wants to be in a parade someday, riding on the firetruck.

On a side note, my Dad was with us too and several people thought he was my husband, yikes! and several times when I was little, people thought he was my brother...way to look young Dad! Oh and
Happy Birthday to you!

Memories of visiting my grandparents in Rockford always include sitting on these chairs at the island...now its their turn!
More sweeping for Gwen...she loves it!
